North Dakota District Lutheran Laymen’s League
2007 INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION The 90th International Lutheran Laymen’s League Convention held in Duluth, Minnesota on July 26th to the 29th was attended by twenty two people from the North Dakota District. The theme of the convention was “Let Your Light Shine.” 2008 DISTRICT CONVENTION The North Dakota District of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League will hold their 63rd Annual Convention February 8-10, 2008 in the Minot area. Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church of Glenburn will be the host congregation and all convention activities will be held at Lynch Immanuel. Rev. Steve Siegel will represent the International Laymen’s League at the convention. AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR The North Dakota District of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League will again select an outstanding Congregational Ambassador in the district. This selection is based on the amount of awareness that the Congregation Ambassador creates in the congregation about programs of Lutheran Hour Ministries and encourages members of the congregation to participate in these programs. The outstanding Ambassador will be selected by the District President, in coordination with other district officials, based upon criteria that are fair to all. If you have an ambassador whom you feel is deserving of this award, please send his/her name with information as to why you are nominating him/her to Robert Bauer, 927 Elm Avenue, Dickinson, ND 58601-6231. PARTY ON THE PRAIRIE The North Dakota District LLL Disaster Response Team participated in a roofing project, because of damage caused by a hail storm in late 2006, on the Don Brandenburg farm to raise funds for financing some the District LLL activities. This project was completed on two different week-ends, May 3-5 and September 6-7. Fourteen people from around the district participated in the project. The funds raised were split between the following: Mission Scholarship Program, Young Family Convention Scholarship, Saint Andrew Mission Society Bus Wrap, Global Work and Witness Scholarships, International Lutheran Laymen’s League, and the District General Fund. ![]() Click to view our recent "Party on the Prairie" YOUNG FAMILY CONVENTION SCHOLARSHIP The North Dakota District LLL Board of Directors at their fall meeting established a Young Family Scholarship Program to attend the International Convention. INTERNATIONAL LUTHERAN LAYMEN’S LEAGUE 2008 CONVENTION The International Lutheran Laymen's League Convention will be held July 24th to the 27th this summer in Lexington, Kentucky. The North Dakota Lutheran Laymen's League will once again be taking a bus to the convention. CHINESE MINISTRY For those of you that may not have received the news yet, the Chinese couple, Paul & Ruth, sponsored by the North Dakota Lutheran Laymen's League and working with the Chinese in North Dakota, returned to China in August. They felt that the two years they spent here were well spent, but also had a longing to go back and work to share the Gospel in China.
